All about me, Part 1

I tried writing a 25-things-about-me list for Facebook a few months ago. It turned into a 25-paragraphs-about-me list. After all, I am a Wordy Girl. Stay tuned for more installments.

I love to talk. I could talk all day long if I only had people to listen. I really appreciate my family in Texas because they let me call them and get my talk on when Chad is not around. I wonder sometimes if they thought that I would stop talking to them when I got married. Ha! As if one human being, my husband, could ever single-handedly absorb all of the talking I need to do. I often accuse PC of not listening to things I say because he does not remember them later. He replies, “Honey, you talk so much. It’s impossible to remember more than half of what you say.” Honestly, he has a point.

When I was a little girl, the best part of my day was when my dad came home from work because he was a new, fresh conversations partner. I would start talking when he walked in the door and not stop until he made me. (We all know the “Lynde, Daddy’s ears are getting tired,” story by now.) In high school, I participated in Speech and Debate, which combined my most favorite thing, talking, with my second most favorite thing, winning. I chose journalism as my major in college because I saw it as my way to talk to the whole world at once. Now that I am a serious business-person, I spend most of the day trying not to talk too much. I know I will never escape my reputation of being a talker, but I at least want to be known for having interesting things to say.

Lynde, I cherish when you take the time to talk.
