If the pics don't satisfy your hunger for Haitian eye candy, then try out these:
Our trip was wonderful, needless to say. Everything worked out fine with our appointment at the Embassy, despite our lawyer taking off for Miami the day before we arrived in Haiti. After some persistent searching (including ambushing his wife at church) and a slew of international phone calls, we got what we needed. That's the thing about Haiti - things don't ever work out the way you expected, but they always work out.
Everyone at the orphanage says Vivine will be home "by summer." I'm not sure whether "by summer" means by June, July or August, but at least we have some kind of due date. In the past, all of the orphanage directors refused to give us a time frame for the completion of the adoption, so I figure things must be going well if they will commit to "by summer."
That's only, at the most, six months away. Considering what we've been through so far, it seems close.
